Greetings Chardonnista’s!
As we approach the end of 2024, it’s time to reflect on the highlights of the year almost gone. The economy may have gone to hell, but oh what a vintage! Our 2024 wines are looking spectacular in our temperature-controlled cellar, whether in barrel, Foudres or our wonderful eggs. The excellent weather conditions that persisted right throughout summer gave us a vintage that will be enjoyed and discussed for many years to come. Intensity of flavours, great purity of fruit, and fantastic maturity have all combined to create powerful and unique wines that we can all enjoy for a decade to come.
We are so rich in quality; we have been able to select out a couple of very unique ‘small batch’ wines that we have never released before. These incredibly beautiful and compelling wines will only be available to our Wine Club Members and selected restaurants and will not be available to any retailers at all. SO JOIN THE WINE CLUB! There are many benefits that make membership very rewarding.
For the season ahead things are looking great. We have enjoyed excellent weather throughout the Chardonnay flowering period, ensuring that we have a good crop on the vines for vintage 2025. As I write it is very hot & dry, ideal for the vineyards, but we are concerned about water availability should the dry weather continue for too long. Let’s hope we get some refreshing rain pre-Xmas to top up the rivers and reservoirs.
On a more personal note, Oscar and Lucy Bish had my first grandchild late June, and we are ecstatic to have a third generation Bish Winemaker in the wings! Our delightful Genevieve Bish is now living in Melbourne and working at the best wine bar in town. This is a fantastic opportunity for Evie to keep expanding her knowledge on the wines of the world and do some great brand work for our family business whilst in Melbourne.
I hope you all have a wonderful Xmas with Family & Friends.
