A new chapter for The Urban Winery!

Happy New Year! We hope you’ve had a fantastic summer break, filled with sunshine, great company, and—of course—exceptional Chardonnay. As a family, we took some time to gather and reflect before diving into what promises to be an exciting year ahead. And speaking of excitement, we have some big news to share!

Over the past three years, Tony Bish Wines has experienced incredible growth, with demand for our Chardonnays continuing to rise both in New Zealand and internationally. To meet this demand, we are expanding our production in 2025—a milestone we are immensely proud of.

With this expansion comes the need to focus on what we do best: crafting world-class Hawke’s Bay Chardonnay. To accommodate our increasing production and sales, we have made the difficult but exciting decision to close The Urban Winery bar and eatery to the public, with our final day of normal trading on Sunday, 16th February 2025.

This isn’t goodbye forever! While our hospitality operations are changing, The Urban Winery will continue to be available for Special Events – Including exclusive tastings, guest chef experiences, live music, and private functions.

We want to extend our deepest gratitude to our incredible team and the loyal patrons who have supported The Urban Winery over the years. Your enthusiasm and love for our wines have been at the heart of everything we do, and we can’t wait to take you on this next journey with us.
